Amazon's Kindle Sale Brings the Paperwhite Back to an All-time Low

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is one of the prettiest (and newest) e-readers on the market, and you can get one for an all-time low right now. It's on sale for just $105, a savings of $35 (or 25%) off the typical price of $140. There are also discounts on the regular Kindle with a front light and the Kindle Paperwhite Kids and Kindle Kids models.

Last September, Amazon updated the Kindle Paperwhite, with the most notable change being a bigger 6.8-inch, 300 PPI glare-free screen. According to Amazon, the goal is to make it seem as close to genuine paper as possible, allowing for "easy reading in any settings, including in full sunshine." It's also speedier, with faster page flips and 8GB of storage, USB-C fast charging, and an IPX8 water resistance designation.

If you're searching for a less expensive option, the standard Kindle with built-in front light is on sale for $55, a $35 discount over the typical $90. Despite being many years old, the touchscreen with front lighting, high-contrast 167 PPI display, and small design keep it competitive. It has 8GB of storage, and Amazon claims that a single charge "lasts weeks, not hours."

Finally, Amazon has reduced the prices of two children's reader models: the Kindle Paperwhite Kids ($115, or 28 percent down) and the Kindle Kids ($65, or 41 percent off). The latter model is comparable to the standard Kindle but has a kid-friendly cover, one year of Amazon Kids+, and a "worry-free guarantee." On the other hand, the latter includes the same features as the Kindle Paperwhite.
