Following in the footsteps of TikTok and Twitter, Instagram is testing a new feature that lets users pin up to three choice posts to the top of their profile ahead of the app's standard photo grid.
The feature, which Alessandro Paluzzi first identified in January, has now been verified to be in development and circulation by TechCrunch, which was told in an email by a Meta spokesman that Instagram is "trying a new feature that allows individuals display content on their profile."
Currently, Meta enables Instagram users to pin Stories to their profile above their picture grid, most likely to encourage people to use the functionality stolen from competitor business Snapchat.
Previously, Instagram users could highlight content within saved stories as a workaround to pin them to their profiles. However, this has always been a time-consuming procedure that does not provide the same simplicity of use as presently being tested.
Meta has yet to comment on when this feature will be available to all Instagram users on iOS and Android. Still, given that restricted beta testing began in January, it's probable that it could be available sooner rather than later.
